THE QUEEN’S PLATINUM JUBILEE WEEKEND
Dunchurch is looking forward to experiencing a number of events during the three-day Jubilee celebrations this week – see below:
Thursday, 2nd June
- 21:15pm when Friends of Dunchurch will be lighting a beacon on the Heath, opposite the newsagents along with 1,000 other villages across the UK.
- Dunchurch Parish Council are proud sponsors of the striking 15ft beacon, and the mayor will be in attendance – everyone is welcome and there will be a glass of Prosecco after the ceremony.
- Friday, 3rd June
2.00pm – There is a church service in the village of thanksgiving. All youth groups are invited and there are refreshments afterwards, as well as music everyone welcome.
- Sunday 5th June
12.00 Noon – 4.00pm – There is the big Dunchurch picnic at Dunchurch sports field. Everyone in the village is invited to bring a rug or seats, as well as a picnic. Come and join in the celebrations – there will be Morris dancing and games for the children as well as cupcakes and ice cream and it will be a lovely way to finish off what will be a truly historic jubilee weekend
